After the All-Star Game, the Phoenix Suns conducted a soul search after the tough form.
After the season begins, the Phoenix sun is very cold. And not very good. The team has been ranked 11th in the last 10 games, 11th in the West 28-32 and 3-7.
The disastrous trade window didn’t help, in which the team tried to fail the Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant deal. Bill’s no-trade clause prevented his exports – but the team tried to push it.
Devin Booker expressed frustration at the team’s lack of urgency to turn things around – although they did win the February 28 victory as 125-108 on February 28.
Kevin Durant and Bol Bol found positive
One of the several positive factors for Phoenix Sun is the form shown by South Sudanese talent Bol Bol.
He was praised by coach Mike Budenholzer last month and now star teammate Kevin Durant has shown his feelings.
Durant hopes other young stars learn from Bol Bol’s professionalism and are bothered by the 25-year-old.
He said: “I think a lot of young players can learn from his game. And it’s not that charming, people don’t think of Bol because he’s so quiet and modest, but he’s a professional professional and he’s proven that since he’s here.
“And since he’s been my teammate, his efforts, his care, his desire to go out and play well, how good his teammates are, I was shocked by how good he was.
“So I always make sure when I talk to you guys, I want to emphasize what he is about him because it’s not that side of a lot of people talking about his game.”
BOL BOL Seasonal Numbers
Bol Bol played 43 games for the Suns last season but was not selected for a single game. He averaged 10.9 minutes per game.
This season, he played 24 games and started 5 games, showing his progress, averaging 13.4 minutes per game.
In February, he averaged 20.9 minutes per game, indicating his increased importance to the team.
In 2022, he scored a season-high 25 points against the Nuggets, the second-highest score of his career in second place in the Pelicans.
For this season, he now averages 7.9 points per game and 12.3 per game over the past month.
In the season of using the Suns as the NBA’s biggest disappointment, Bol Bol at least provides a reason to smile.
