Rickie Fowler finds himself in his biggest victory spot, but will Rickie stay with TPC Sawgrass?

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida – Rickie Fowler’s eyes didn’t shift as he went from TPC Sawgrass’ 16th green to the 17th tee in the 2025 2025 Players Championship.
As Fowler walked into the heart of the amphitheater in the Players Stadium, a man was vaguely visible behind him, peeking between the corners of the giant stands, like a ghostly reminder of what was once–again again.
Ten years ago, Fowler was a 26-year-old budding buddy. He is the prince of golf. With world-class gaming and Unmistabkle look, a young, sellable feel. He won the Player Championship in 2015 and is still looking for a signature victory to win him what everyone considers to be inevitable. He got it dramatically. Fowler hit five holes, six holes, and gas pedals to grab Sergio Garcia and Kevin Kisner, forcing the playoffs, and he ended up winning twice his two wins.
“I’ve been waiting for this long,” Fowler said after his groundbreaking victory. “I said it was a big one.”

Fowler’s victory at TPC Sawgrass was supposed to open the floodgates for one of the smart young stars of golf. Of course, golf has other plans. Ten years later, Fowler returned to his biggest victory in a different place.
He is now 36 years old and exercise prescription sunglasses help his vision. Fowler, once a top 10 staple, now sits between Kurt Kitayama and Romain Langasque, ranks 97th in the world. He is behind five positions in star amateur Luke Clanton. He married two daughters. He has won four wins since the 2015 player, but only once since 2019.
While he is still a big attraction, it’s not like 10 years ago and there are fewer iconic Rickie Oranges in galleries today.
Fowler went to the first tee on TPC Sawgrass on Thursday, which drew a lot of applause. An adult man wearing the above all orange look stands behind a T-shirt box. A little boy wearing a 2015 era Fowler PUMA hat, he was ready to leave behind the group of two Marquises in the afternoon, and his way encouraged Fowler’s way.
When Fowler reached the 3-shot T-shirt box for the third shot, a woman turned to her husband in surprise, as Fowler had just walked past them.
“It’s Rickie Fowler. I didn’t realize he was playing this week. Another spectator on the fifth hole picked up her chair and said she hoped she would meet Fowler again.
The 2015 player champion was promoted very early. Some fans discussed whether Fowler will trade from New York Golf Club to Jupiter link for the TGL offseason. The roar that echoed throughout Pete Dye’s creation was the product of the Rory-Scottie-Xander Group, not the Fowler.
“He’s fighting today,” a fan said on the fifth green. “Try to keep it relevant.”
For both Fowler and Golf games, a lot can change in a decade.
However, while the passage of time is merciless, at some point, past meetings. At least for a short time, what was it.
Fowler arrived at 4, 6, and rediscovered something that seemed to be missing.
He opened a drive under the new overhanging tree and split the fairway. A dart to 2 feet leads to his first bird, bringing him back to par. He hit the 5th 9-9 second time from the deck and made another bird to fall into the red figure.
As Fowler was under one and turned to the back nine, the crowd became bigger. During his first nine strolls, he threw a golf ball to a young fan and gave a man who he claimed was for his pregnant wife.
Despite his current struggles, few people can have a golf crowd like Fowler. The star power is magnetic, and when his name climbs to the rankings on Thursday, you may feel the crowd trying to go further.
He poured a 28-foot birdie putt and 12th place, then barely lacked scoring opportunities at 13, 14 and 15.
Fowler stood on the 16th hole of the 5th two below. He hung there on Day 1, but the fireworks he once provided did not arrive. But the fans are dead That Rickie Fowler reappears.

He ended the day with four-quarters of the game, with two players completing two shots under the age of six.
As he always did, Fowler walked the rope line outside the score, signing for each child who pushed the flag, hat or ball towards the flag, hat or ball in his direction. As the game fades and flows, time never changes that part of Fowler. He is still one of the great ambassadors and gentlemen of golf.
In the sun, he strolled towards the clubhouse with his swaggers of ten years ago, and before time, he could only be full of possibilities.
