Arsenal are several clubs interested in Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
The young Frenchman only participated in February 2024 and did not join Paris Saint-Germain’s Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of the season, with the option to buy. In April, the buy option was activated and he permanently joined Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee of 16.5 million euros.
Hugo Ekitike has always been a revelation of the Bundesliga. An impressive season at Eintracht Frankfurt made him a coveted young talent. The 22-year-old has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 25 league matches, helping Frankfurt rank fourth on the Bundesliga table.
France’s under-21 international performance has not been overlooked by clubs across Europe, especially in the Premier League. Arsenal reportedly are keen to sign Ekitike after finding a consistent source of target this season. Respected Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano said Premier League clubs have contacted Frankfurt for the striker’s summer move.
“Hugo Ekitike is expected to leave Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer after the great season he has,” Romano tweeted.
“Premier League clubs have begun calling on the French striker before the summer transfer window.”
Last week, Ekitike made his debut in France’s Under-21 vs England. The match is expected to be attended by many scouts, as well as his hat-trick to beat England 5-3 in a friendly match.
Arsenal wants Hugo ekitike
Ekitike is expected to leave Frankfurt by the end of the season, and it remains to be seen what the German team demands for their star striker. He is certainly an Arsenal target after the frustrating season they endured.
The injury of Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havitz derailed the Gunners’ campaign. The lack of unavailable performance of the three-wheeler means there is no consistent source of targets. Leandro Trossard attacked to some extent, but he was more effective on the bench than starting the game. Mikel Merino has achieved important goals since being used as a false 9, but if North Londoners are to really challenge the Premier League title next season, they have to bring in clinical scorers.
Ekitike is perfectly suited and adds much-needed effectiveness to Arsenal’s attacks. The Frenchman is only 22 years old and Mikel Arteta has been signing in recent years. The former PSG man will be an exciting acquisition while bringing competition to the team.
So the Gunners must be proactive and start bringing the foundation for the summer Ekitike.
