Kent CC’s Wisinski earns PGA Master Professional Name

American PGA golf professional Jimmy Wisinski earns PGA Master professional name

Frisco, Texas (March 17, 2025) – Jimmy Wisinski, director of teaching at Kent Country Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, earned PGA Master Professional status and is the highest educational name in the association.

Wisinski, a member of the Michigan PGA section, is one of more than 30,000 PGAs for golf professionals in the United States, joined a special group to become the 453rd PGA member to earn a professional master’s degree. He was assigned to teaching and coaching.

“I am happiest when I help people play better golf, and I have an endless curiosity to learn as much as possible about the game, knowing that it will also help others improve,” said Wisinski, from his home in PGA in Frisco, Texas. “I am pursuing an ongoing education and am now honored to be part of a select PGA Master Professional. It feels special and I am very proud.”

The PGA Master Professional Program was founded in 1969 to recognize American PGA members who have gone to great lengths of time as golf professionals and maintain the highest level of excellence for themselves and their operations. The course is designed to ensure that golf professionals are ready to meet the growing market demand in executive management, golf operations, and teaching and coaching names.

The program can be at least 10 years of US PGA membership and is advanced certified through PGA professional and certified professional programs. The course includes a wide range of programs based on specific certifications previously obtained by PGA golf professionals in the United States. PGA Master Professor Sutight will obtain PGA Master Professor status after the project is completed.

Wisinski has been a US PGA member since 2010 and has grown up in the competition. When he was one year old, his parents Jim and Trudy opened the Tee-2-Green golf shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and they have been operating for over 41 years. Wisinksi grew up in the store and learned how to change the handshake of golf clubs when she was eight years old.

Wisinski competed in the University of Michigan golf team, and he graduated four times in 2006 and received a bachelor’s degree in sports management and communication.

Shortly after graduating from college, Wisinki followed the “family business”. He joined the PGA Professional Golf Management Program (PGM) in 2006 and served as an assistant professional in facilities in the Grand Rapids urban areas, including the Highlands Golf Club (2006), the Pilgrim Run Golf Club (2008) and the Thornapple Pointe’s Golf Club (2010).

After becoming a member of the PGA in the United States, he became the manager of Tee-2-Green until 2015 when he was hired as the first assistant professional by Stonewater Country Club. In 2017, he moved to Kent Country Club as his first assistant professional and was promoted to Director of Teaching in 2020.
Wisinski is a Michigan Division 4 PGA Award winner and recently won the 2025 Michigan PGA Coach and Professional Development Award. He received the Division’s Player Development Award in 2023 and received Michigan PGA Assistant Professional of the Year honors in 2020. Additionally, he was appointed as the “Best Teacher in Every State” Michigan list for 2024-25 Golf Digest.

With over two decades of golf teaching experience, Wisinski combines the industry’s latest technology with his students including Trackman, Sportsbox AI 3D, and more, and is certified by the Titleist Performance Institute, Sportsbox AI and Golfforever.

Wisinski lives in Grand Rapids with his wife Jolene and his two children.
