Kraken Sign John Hayden Extended for 2 Years – Hockey Writer – Seattle Kraken

On Wednesday, May 28, Seattle Cleken announced that they will sign John Hayden to a two-year contract. The average annual value (AAV) of his contract is $775,000.

Although Haydn joined the NHL in 2016-17, he didn’t join Kraken until the 2022-23 season. Seattle signed him after becoming a free agent in the offseason in 2022 because Buffalo Peras did not re-sign him. Haydn separated his time during three seasons at Kraken, at Kraken and their American Hockey League (AHL) membership team, Coachella Valley Firebirds.

In the 2022-23 season, Hayden played only seven games in Kraken and scored two goals. In the Firebirds, he played in 47 games and recorded 33 points with 17 goals and 16 assists. He also played in ten playoff games, scoring goals and recording assists.

In the 2023-24 season, Hayden played only two games with Kraken. His average ice time (TOI) is 6:44, which is a negative 1. He spent most of his seasons with the Firebirds, playing in 65 games and recording 26 points with 15 goals and 11 assists. The Firebirds entered the playoffs again, with Haydn participating in 18 games. He recorded 13 points with 9 goals and 4 assists.

Last season, Hayden played most of the games in his 20-year-old Seattle game. He recorded a goal and an assist. He also scored 27 points in 44 games against the Firebirds.

Haydn has been a reliable call from Kraken when needed and often goes into the fourth line. Perhaps with this signature, he will have more time than the seabirds.
