According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool is believed to be signing a new contract with Virgil van Dijk.
Salah signs new Liverpool deal
News of Red Army supporters’ dream dream finally came true on Friday, with Mohamed Salah signing a new two-year contract at Anfield.
The 32-year-old Liverpool legend has been worried about leaving the club throughout the season, but he will now be at Merseyside until at least 2027, saying he intends to win more trophys there:
“If I don’t believe it, I won’t sign. I believe the team can win trophies and with the support of the fans and the city, and supporters always give us in the Olympics, I believe we can win many trophies in the years to come.”
Now, hopefully other players will follow suit, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk also had no contracts at the end of the season.
While the latter seems increasingly likely to be the same as Salah, the former’s head seems to be through a steering move to Real Madrid. That said, there is no confirmation of Alexander-Arnold leaving Liverpool at the peak of his strength.
Liverpool wants new deal for “outstanding” ace
According to Romano in his newsletter GivemesportLiverpool is still seeking to sign a new deal for Ibrahima Konate and Van Dijk:
“They are in talks. The priorities are obviously Salah and Van Dick, but the next one may be Konate because Liverpool is working on it.”
Given that he is still only 25 years old, eight-year-old Van Dijk’s junior is crucial to ensure Konate remains at Liverpool for the foreseeable future.
The Frenchman was in Anfield, with many people from Arne Slot to supporters, who also praised him earlier this season, saying that after the Wolves won in September:
“As you can see, he’s important to the goal, he’s solid on defense, he’s a little unfortunate about the goals we admit, but obviously the quality he has is excellent.
“He is learning, growing, getting better, taking care of himself much better so he can be prepared every three days. It’s inquiry. And, we have a young player behind Jarrell and he’s doing well. We have to keep pushing each other and he’s doing well.”
Relatively speaking, Konate earns a £70,000 per week salary compared to many of his teammates, so he deserves an improved contract to show that he is really grateful.

The Red Army is in good shape to reach an agreement…
Granted, injury can sometimes get in the way of his career, so the risk of handing him a delay is minimal, but he can only get better in the next few years and losing him at this point in his career could be a big blow to the celebrity.
