Four children among the injured were taken to hospital after a car crashed into the crowd during Liverpool’s bank holiday on Monday.
Merseyside Police Assistant Chief Jenny Sims said the incident was not considered terrorism and was considered an isolated incident after a 53-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
The Prime Minister said he had spoken to the Liverpool Mayor about the incident, adding: “Everyone, especially the children, should be able to celebrate their heroes without such horror.”
At a press conference Monday night, Dave Kitchin of Northwest Ambulance Services (NWAS) said 27 people were taken to the hospital, and 20 people were treated on the spot, including four injured children.
Two of the people who were taken to the hospital, including one of the children, suffered serious injuries, he said.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Services chief fire officer Nick Searle said four people trapped under the car, including a child, were rescued by firefighters.
“The scene at Liverpool is shocking – my idea is all those injured or injured,” Sir Kyle Starmer said in a statement.
He later added: “They support and care for those injured in these horrible events.
“The city has a long and proud history during difficult times.
“Liverpool stands together, the whole country stands together with Liverpool.”
Sir Kenny Dalglish, a former Liverpool player and manager, said: “I was shocked, afraid and deeply saddened by what happened at the end of today’s parade.
“Our thoughts and prayers are sent to everyone and their families affected by the tragic events of today. Our national anthem never feels more appropriate, you will never go alone. Your Liverpool family is behind you.”
“The devastating ending… praying everyone can” wrote on X, while former Reds forward Robbie Fowler said: “Heartbreaking news…very disgusting about what happened here in Liverpool.”
