Like everything else in college sports, the recruiting landscape is changing dramatically beneath our feet as the advent of the transfer portal and zero dollars prompts teams to drastically change their traditional approaches to roster construction. Coaches have to adapt to a new world where freshmen need to be very special — or at least very advanced — to find the field early on in already established strength programs.
