Luis Diaz affirms happiness at Liverpool during Barcelona talk

Luis Diaz has been “very happy” at Liverpool for the future of the Premier League championship.

Diaz scored 17 goals in all games in 2024-25 and provided 5 assists in his best season since joining Porto in 2022.

13 of Diaz’s goals led to Liverpool’s Premier League trophy as they won the record 20th British League title.

Diaz signed a contract with Liverpool until the end of the 2026-27 season, but it is closely related to moving.

Barcelona is a fan of the Colombia international, and the Saudi team is also interested in his service.

But in an interview with Liverpool’s official website, Diaz made it clear that he was satisfied with Anfield’s life.

“I feel like I’m going through a really good time,” Diaz said. “I’m really happy to be here and be this great institution, this great club and have great teammates around me.

“I’m very proud from the moment I arrived. I’ve been trying to work hard for it and seeing what’s happening today has made me proud of it, and I’m really happy because that’s what I do.

“[But] We are nobles without teammates. We are a team. The forwards and wingers are always trying to help achieve goals and assists, and now, I have made good numbers to support this.

“It’s about playing and playing well and supporting the team in a way I enjoy and enjoy as usual.”

Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 in April to win 5-1.

Asked about his emotions that day, Diaz said: “I remembered a lot of things since I was a kid.

“I want to play for a big team, I dream of playing in the Premier League and playing for a major club like Liverpool.

“Just as I’ve been through a lot of hard situations, coming here today and winning the Premier League title means you remember a lot of things and I’m happy about it.

“I don’t think many people believe us [at the beginning of the season]. From the beginning of the season, we showcased what we have day after day.

“We started to achieve results, obviously moving forward. We learned to believe in what we have, and to be filled with quality, great players in what the managers demanded us and the team, which made things easier.

“Then the results help, 100%. Then, you have more motivation and you work harder, and that’s what I think is happening.”
