PRO golf has been shattered for nearly three years as the PGA Tour merges with Saudi public investment funds. But despite both sides failing, the PGA Tour once again shines in one of the tactical moves last weekend in Palm Beach’s Cognizant Classic, when the top-ranked amateur Luke Clanton received the PGA Tour Card through the PGA Tour University Accelerated Program.
Florida junior became the second player to win a card through the acceleration program, joining Vanderbilt’s Gordon Sargent, who will join the Tour after this season.
The PGA Tour created the acceleration program in November 2022 as part of a series of changes to the PGA Tour University program, aiming to provide the best young amateurs with a more direct tour and help them join Liv Golf (as the second-ranked amateur Eugenio Eugenio Chacarra DID).
Among these changes, it was decided to offer tours for the No. 1 predecessors on the final PGA Tour College Rankings, Ludvig Aberg became the first person to exploit in spring 2023. By providing a more direct path for top college players, this tour was able to stop Liv from stealing LIV and stealing upward talent and keep IT recruited to the PGA Tour.
Aberg broke into the scene almost immediately after winning his PGA Tour card. He became a member of the 2023 Ryder Cup team and is now the fourth-place player in the world after winning the Genesis Invitational a few weeks ago. He is a budding star who looks like he was created in the lab and has a fascinating personality that will make him one of the next faces of golf.

So could Cranton. On the PGA Tour, he won 14 of 20 PGA Tour acceleration points, including the top 15 of 11 PGA Tours and two runner-ups. Clanton not only cuts on the PGA Tour, but has been competing for it.
Like Aberg, Clanton has everything he needs to play in the next generation of stars, and there is no reason to think he can’t keep it. Heck, the 2025 Ryder Cup team position is not impossible.
In a world, Chacarra’s departure from Liv is the beginning of the Exodus of top amateurs, putting the PGA Tour into a more terrifying situation. But while some other talented young players also compete in LIV, the PGA Tour is still the desired destination for the world to challenge young people.
As a result, the PGA Tour has watched Aberg thriving. Now, Clanton and Sargent will have a chance, and nothing more than just proves the great success of the PGA Tour college and acceleration pathways.
After Clanton’s delay allegations at the WM Phoenix Open and winning the PGA Tour Card at the WM Phoenix Open, Clanton said he knew his “time will come.” On Friday, he knew it very well. The dreamy mood began to gush as his last putt fell. Cranton immediately prayed from the 18th Green Prayer family.
After receiving the card, Cranton and his family went to Chipotle for supper. Aberg did the same thing after winning the 2023 championship.
Future stars often go to a similar path at the top, and it’s a tour, and it’s still the best t-shirt place in the world.
