The Edmonton Oilers acquired forwards Trent Frederic and Max Jones between them, between the Boston Bruins and the New Jersey Devils.
The Brown Bears actually traded Frederic (retaining 50% of their salary) to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for an unsigned draft pick Petr Hauser. The devil then dispatched Frederic (retaining 50% of the salary reserve) to the oilers in exchange for unsigned draft pick Shane Lachance.

The oilers are sending the 2025 second-round draft pick and the 2026 fourth-round draft pick to the Brows.
Oilers join Frederic
Frederic is the largest production in the industry, with eight goals and seven assists in 57 games this season, the disappointing Bruins Club. The 27-year-old’s figures were a downturn since last season, when he targeted 18 goals with a score of 40. He is in the second year of a two-year contract worth $2.3 million, which will be the first unrestricted free agent this offseason.
Frederic currently plays with a low body injury every week and misses his past four games. Still, he is clearly what Oilers general manager Stan Bowman wants to earn in his roster as he hopes it is the second straight Stanley Cup final.
Frederic can play center and wings at the same time and will never be shy about using his 6-foot-3, 221-pound frame to play to his advantage. In 337 games, Bruis’ 2016 No. 29 pick had 55 goals and 54 assists, scoring 109 points.
Jones spent most of the season in the American Hockey League (AHL) and Providence Bruin (AHL), recording 13 goals and eight assists in 31 games. The Anaheim Ducks’ 24th overall pick in 2016 came in seven games this season, recording zero points. In 265 professional NHL games, he had 31 goals and 31 assists and scored 62 points.
The struggling brown bear has been transferred to acquire future assets
The Bears are in the non-character seventh place in the Mets division, and he is unlikely to make the playoffs and turn to gain prospects and future assets. Wanner was a 21-year-old right-shooter defensive player in his second AHL season. This season at Bakersfield’s Condors, the 2021 seventh round player has a goal and an assist in 22 games.
The second round player in 2025 is the choice of St. Louis Blues, while the Oilers acquirers are owned by the Oilers.
