Manchester City Plan Mobile Tottenham Hotspur Destiny udogie

Manchester City is seeking surprises for Tottenham’s left-back Destiny Udogie as Pep Guardiola hopes to improve his team after a disappointing campaign.

During the winter transfer window, Sky Blues invested millions of dollars, bringing Omar Marmoush, Vitor Reis, Abdukodir Khusanov and Nico Gonzalez, among others. When the transfer window reopened in June, they still intend to strengthen their team further.

One area that Guardiola must solve is defense, and the city has failed to bear many goals this season. There seems to be a defender on the agenda, and Kyle Walker is not seen as part of Pep Guardiola’s plan, even if he returns from AC Milan’s loan.

Manchester City added fateful Udogie to the list of potential defender targets, according to well-known journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Italian added that the Tottenham was named one of the highly regarded players by Manchester City’s new sporting director Hugo Viana, who has been monitoring him since he started at Italian club Udinese.

Fabrizio Romano revealed in his exclusive Givemesport column: “The club is exploring other options on the market, and sources told us that one of the players appreciated inside Manchester City is the Italian talent, Destiny Udogie.”

“The people at Udogie are still young, able to play on wings and have proven themselves in the Premier League at Totterham Hotspur.

“Manchester City’s new director Hugo Viana appreciates Udogie, who has decided to invest in a move driven by Fabio Paratici since he was in Udinese.”

Destiny Udogie wants Manchester City

Udogie, 22, has been impressive since his debut in 2023. He has made 52 appearances for North London Club so far and won the Premier League Young Player Season Award in 2024.

After a brilliant debut in the Premier League, the Italian has not managed to replicate his performance due to injury issues. He has been struggling with concerns about lack of fitness and chores this season, which means the left-back’s performance has been hit and missed. As a result, he only made 30 appearances in all games.

Given his talent and great potential, it is no surprise that Tottenham Hotspur boss believes Udorgi is “untouchable”. With negotiations with Daniel Levy also very difficult, Man City faces a fight to convince Tottenham to sell Udorge this summer.
