The Florida Panthers headed to Edmonton for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup final, against the Oilers, Series 2. The Panthers dominated the game with their defensive performance. They beat the Oilers 5-2 and had a chance to win the Cup in a back-to-back season. Here is your game review.

The Oilers had some glorious chances in the first five minutes of the highest line, but goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky fulfilled the task. These savings are huge, as Florida opened a 9:12 score in the first phase. Brad Marchand won a fight in the neutral zone, cut into the middle and tore goalkeeper Calvin Pickard upstairs.

After a bad oilman power play, the Panthers entered the opening frame at 2-0 in Sam Bennett’s 18:06. A turnover in the neutral zone led to Matthew Tkachuk’s chances. With 3:13 left, Corey Perry scored 4-2. His viewing beat Bobrowsky’s gloves. But that’s too little, too late, as Florida added an empty net and beat Edmonton 5-2. Bobrovsky stopped 19 of 19 shots with a savings percentage (SV%) of 0.905 in the win, while Pickard stopped 14 shots with a score of 0.778 SV% in the defeat.
