Maresca at Chelsea Star

Chelsea continued to win the Champions League bid on Sunday afternoon, what was Enzo Maresca’s side in the days of football at Emirates rival Arsenal.

One person who will be forced to watch the all-London incident is 82 Gai England International, Raheem Sterling, the 30-year-old is currently on loan with the Gunners and cannot run with his parents’ club.

Whether the former Manchester City man will start, even in Arsenal’s offensive injury plight remains to be seen, although the experienced winger provided two assists on Wednesday in a Champions League clash with PSV.

The stark performance against Eredivisie’s side represented a significant high in the low-key temporary tenure in North London, with only ten games in all competitions and only one score.

The struggling forward is likely to want to start over under the guidance of former city assistant Mikel Arteta, although he just backed off further after his two-year tricky years at Stamford Bridge on evidence so far.

Raheem Sterling’s Chelsea troubles

Liverpool’s one-time man is confusing, and he is a polarizing figure in British football. This is the best performance of former city teammate Kevin de Bruyne, who said the media’s view of Sterling led him to believe the winger would be “arrogant” despite ending up meeting what Belgium described as “one of the most modest people I’ve ever met in football.”

Sterling-Man-City

On the court, the former teenage sensation wasn’t always the recognition he deserved, scoring 20 goals in his country in 82 games, and the most famous of his spell at Etihad was 131 times.

It was this form of Manchester that attracted Todd Boehly and Co-op to pay £50m to his signature in 2022, when then-owner Thomas Tuchel described Sterling as a “huge player”.

Sadly, West London has not exercised in West London, and so far, the aging star has only 19 goals in 81 games in all competitions.

This led to Maresca’s assets of £325,000 per week at the start of the current campaign, resulting in his temporary switch-off and it’s hard to see his parents’ club in a predominantly youth-centric way Boehly oversees.

Given that his salary and transfer fees seem like a expensive mistake, Sterling’s case is a case that Chelsea hopes to avoid in the future. Unfortunately, the scheme seems to have been repeated on its own.

Signing a British talent who is struggling in a tough time with Manchester’s Premier League rivals – does it sound familiar?

Arsenal - Rahim - Sterling transfer

Just like Sterling – he admitted at Atihad that his “game time is being limited”, Chelsea decided to take out a loan outside the window in the summer to save Jadon Sancho from his Manchester United hell.

The 24-year-old signed a deal that included an obligation to pay between £20 and £25 million, and the 24-year-old also fell on loan in Borussia Dortmund in the second half of last season.

Prior to that, the £73 million signing had only scored 12 goals, contributing only six assists to the Red Devils, and in his first spell in Germany, he showed an amazing performance in his first spell, after he had paid more than 100 goals for Dortmund.

On the surface, the once promising advance, which may have only a potential cost of £20m, looks like a sharp business, especially as Sancho started a big shot in West London after he registered three assists in the club’s first three league games.

It is worth noting, however, that since then, the Manchester City Academy graduates have only one assist in the league and only two scores.

Sancho’s first shot at the target in a win over FC Copenhagen on Thursday since Boxing Day shows the fact that he has encountered limited threats on his Chelsea shirt.

The rapid decline of John Obi Mikel and others has attracted criticism, with former Bruce hero saying that the British have only recently “disappeared”:

“Jadon Sancho, he came, he deceived us with a few games………… But he left again.

“Leave the grid. He catches the ball. He doesn’t go over the people anymore. He doesn’t create opportunities anymore. He doesn’t help the team much.”

The annoying remarks highlight the £100,000 per week man’s terrible 2024/25, with goalkeeper Peter McVitie rating on a 4/10 match during Wednesday’s conference league clash.

Now, even if the Daily Mail claims that Sancho can actually return to his father’s club, if Bruce agrees to pay a expensive fine fee, Chelsea has fallen into another expensive mistake, and Chelsea has fallen into another expensive mistake.

Sancho-Chelsea

Either way, no matter what happens this summer, it’s not a deal at all, and Sancho sadly led Sterling’s path rather than replicating the glory of Cole Palmer.
