Mbappe acknowledged France’s “p*ssed’ after Spain’s failure

Kylian Mbappe said the French locker room was “angry” after being eliminated from the National League semi-finals by Spain.

Les Bleus lost a 5-4 thriller in which Mbappe packed from the scene, but not enough to overcome the European champion.

In fact, France lowered the game 5-1 in the 23-minute game, and then some inspired alternatives threatened to transfer the game.

But they eventually fell and left Mbappe on their return to the state agency.

After the game, he said: “I don’t agree with the referee’s actual game time, but if I talk, people think I’m angry. When there are five minutes, you have to play five minutes.”

“In the heat of this moment, I would say we played well. We haven’t had a while. We had a 10-minute gap in the first half, we admitted two goals, and the second half was the same. In 90 minutes, we weren’t consistent, but we did get better.”

“Experimental defense? It’s not an excuse, we’re the highest level players. But it’s not all negative. We’re angry, that’s for sure. We’re frustrated.”

Deschamps responded to his captain, who was once the top four Real Madrid stars, Champions League champions Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue, and Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise.

He felt his team unfortunately admitted five goals, but admitted that they were far from perfect at night.

Deschamps added: “It’s a feeling. It’s harsh to fall 2-0 at the end of the first half because we have a lot of opportunities.

“We were disappointed 5-1, but we didn’t give up. We couldn’t throw everything away; we did a lot of good things. We had better control than this Spanish team. If we admit five goals, it’s because we can do better on defense, but it’s frustrating. They usually work very well once there is a chance.

“The quality of the opposition can lead to mistakes, but we can always do better when there is a goal.

“I don’t just blame the defenders because they find themselves one-on-one.

“I try to keep my head clear and not to throw everything away. When you admit five goals, it’s because you haven’t done everything right. It’s the highest level.”

Now Spain will continue to face Portugal in Sunday’s final, France left what could have been seen.
