Captains of the American Hockey League All-Star teams are selected annually by the league president in recognition of their outstanding leadership and service.
McKenzie, who is from Golden, B.C., has played 12 years as a pro, scoring 186 goals, 279 assists and 465 in 612 AHL games with Texas, Chicago and Utica. point. McKenzie, who is in his fifth year as captain of the Stars, won the Dudley (Red) Garrett Memorial Award as the AHL's outstanding rookie in 2013-14 and captured the Calder Cup that season. He appeared in two Calder Cup finals with Texas in 2018 and Chicago in 2019 and has 65 points in 90 playoff games in his AHL career. McKenzie was selected by Dallas in the 2009 NHL Draft and has played 99 games in the NHL with his parent team, the Stars. This will be his first time participating in the AHL All-Star Classic.
This is Dalpy's seventh season with the Charlotte Checkers (2010-13, 2021-) and his 15th career season. He totaled 220 goals and 173 assists for 393 points in 574 career AHL games with Charlotte, Cleveland, Iowa, Rochester, Utica and Albany, and served as a Monster Captain of the (2019-21) and Checkers (2021-) teams. Born in Paris, Ontario, he was drafted in the second round of the 2008 NHL Draft and also played 168 games in the National Hockey League with Carolina, Vancouver, Buffalo, Minnesota, Columbus and Florida State, and with Stanley Cup final against the Panthers in 2023.
