Michigan project highlights 2025 Raymond Hearn golf course design

Raymond Hearn golf course design has begun another busy year with some new restoration/renovation projects in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Maine, But his hometown of Michigan has many programs.

“We are excited to have many very unique projects throughout the United States, but I am particularly proud to work in my hometown in Michigan,” Hearn said. “Michigan’s multi-billion dollar golf industry is very important to our state’s economy.” . It’s a great honor to have such a diverse and unique golf course in this great state. We love helping clubs succeed.”

Hearn, Asgca is a Detroit native, award-winning architect based in the Netherlands, will work in 2025 on Michigan projects in the Netherlands, Fremont, Harbor Springs, Ypsilanti, Iron River, Whitehall and Plymouth. Many of these projects involve brand new golf holes.

The most public work will continue with Boyne Golf in Harbour Springs Heights, where Hearn is involved in several projects including ongoing master planning/restoration construction Donald Ross Memorial Course exist Heather Courses. Hearn continues his work at Boyn Hill at Boyn Falls Monument course.

This summer, Born Golf’s biggest news is opening up its new Par-3 short course Doon Brae and rear YairdHimalayan style putting routes by St. Andrew, each putting is designed by Hearn. The new Doon Brae will be Boyne Golf’s 11th class, and they plan to sell because of Michigan’s grand 11. DoonBrae and Back Yaird have been built behind the Highland Main Lodge, while the Par-3 course is on the hillside and is used as ski mountains for winter on the hillside.

Some of Hearn’s previous works will be part of the news of the big tournament in Michigan Golf this summer. His company was asked to make some course improvements/adjustments in preparation for the Cardinal at St. John’s Resort PlymouthAugust 22-24, International golf stars Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Sergio Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and others compete. Hearn created an award-winning course that was recently added as a hosting website for the season-ending LIV golf tournament, which includes its top players.

Cardinal(pictured above) opened in 2024 for open competition, was recently nominated before being specifically mentioned in Golf Digest’s Best New Public Course Category.

exist Three golf courses in the Netherlands Hearn continued to work on local courses, building a new 6 hole. Once finished, it will be a dramatic, new, uphill, risk/reward and driveable 4-spin, despite requests from the 289 yards rear tees, while also offering four other tees. exist Waters Edge Golf Course in FremontHearn continued his well-received work, this time on a new hole 10. A dramatic new Cape Lake Cave is being built, which embraces the holes on the lake and opens up to include new, countless shooting angles. See the illustration

Washtenaw Golf Club in Ypsilantia classic classic designed by Bert Way in 1899, has been the site of several Hearn restoration and renovation projects in recent years and has been considered in 2025. With the valuable air of 1930, the Repair of Holes 11 plus more ages of “Golden” designs” is the next improvement in the grass line restoration in the file. exist Youngs Recreation Golf Courses in Iron River On the Upper Peninsula, Hearn is considering building a large-scale new fescue area this year. Hearn has a remote master plan for the course. See the illustration

White Lake Golf Club in Whitehall (Tom Bendelow Gem was founded in 1916) is another classic course, and Hearn has been doing well in recent years for renovations and finishing renovation projects. This year’s click is the reshaping of hole 7, as well as the creation of a large number of new natural sand bunker waste areas and the establishment of new fescue areas. See in the illustration
