On January 17, the Montreal Victory hosted the Minnesota Frost in their third game of the 2024-25 Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) season. The Victory team won this game by defeating the Frost team 4-2.

The game started in the opening minutes, with Montreal entering the penalty area. Kayla Barnes had to sit for two minutes, but the visitors couldn't take advantage of the extra players on the ice. At 6:57, the Victory returned to full capacity. At 8:05, they scored their first goal of the night. Jennifer Gardner catches pass from Erin Ambrose. Gardner hit the puck toward the net next to the backboard. As she cleared the faceoff circle, she passed the ball to Abby Bolin right in front of the net. While Nicole Hensley was still staring at Gardner, she fired a shot. Bolin's shot hit the back of the net and knocked Victoire off the backboard. Six minutes later, Marie-Philippe Poulin was sent into the box after an illegal body check. Frost was once again unable to score during the strong attack, and the quarter ended with a score of 1-0.
In the first two minutes of the second quarter, Montreal expanded its lead. Alexandra Labelle's shot found the back of the net but was blocked by Kinsley. Claire Dalton grabbed a rebound in front of the net and fired a shot for her second goal of the night. Two minutes after the second goal, Frost won his first penalty of the night. Kelly Pannek started boarding at 4:14. Maggie Flaherty was caught up in the action and had to wait until the game was delayed to 5:08.
Victory had a two-man advantage and they took full advantage of it. Pulin's shot was blocked by Hensley. She successfully retrieved the puck and sent it to Labelle. She gave it to Ambrose. From here, she passed on to Prine, who in turn passed on to Barnes. Pullin skated closer to the net and retrieved the puck from Ambrose. She fired a shot for the first power-play goal of the night, Victoria's third. May Batson came on after interference in the 12th minute but did not score in her absence. Frost won his first game of the night with three minutes left in the game. Panek won the face-off and Sophie Jacques caught the puck. She passed to Kendall Coyne just in front of the net, while Ann-Renee Desbiance was well away from the goal line. Frost held the lead at the plate, but Victory still held a two-point lead.
In the opening minutes, another penalty was awarded. Claire DeGeorge was sent to the penalty box for a trip. The penalty was canceled and play continued as normal until the eight minute mark. Frost was sent into the box and this time it was Katie Noll who took a knee. However, Victoria made the most of the penalty. Ambrose was in the game again and fired a shot into the net. The ball deflected off the goal post and Bolling managed to recover it. She scored her team's fourth goal of the night and second of the game.
Things were getting tense for Frost. With little time left and three goals behind, the game was reaching its final moments. Montreal won its final penalty kick of the night with four minutes remaining. Bolling was asked to use the throwing equipment and she was forced to sit down. Frost took a chance and ran with it. Michaela Cava's shot from the blue line brought Frost within two. However, this second goal was not enough to bring them any closer. Victory won 4-2.

Victoria returns to action on Sunday, January 19, hosting the Ottawa Charge. Frost will return home for a game on Jan. 21, when they will also host the Chargers.
