The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) continues its takeover journey on January 19th. 18,000 spectators came to watch the two men fight. In the end, Victory defeated the Chargers 2-1.

Until 10:57, everything was calm. Ann-Renee Desbiens took the first penalty of the game for interference. Lina Ljungblom sat out for two minutes as the Lady Victories were unable to stop their goalkeeper. Ottawa couldn't take advantage of the extra players they had on the ice. The Chargers had eight shots on goal, while Victoria had seven. Although they had their chances, there were no goals on the scoreboard at the end of the period.
Three minutes into the second quarter, the Chargers took their first penalty kick. Alexa Vasco was penalized for slashing. The Victoria did not gain anything from this extra female advantage. They have one more chance at the end of the season. Chargers' Danielle Serdachny was sent to the box while waiting for a call. This time, Victory can make a difference. Erin Ambrose and Katie Tabin passed the ball back and forth trying to find space. Ambrose passes to Tabin, who shoots at the faceoff spot. Emerance Maschmeier saved Tabin's shot. However, Catherine Dubois was in front of the net. She was able to get the rebound off the pads and score the first goal of the game. The game ended in the last 31 seconds, with Victory leading by one point.
Six and a half minutes into the third quarter, Maureen Murphy had to sit down for a hook shot. The Chargers didn't score with an extra player on the field. They did score, however, a minute after Victory returned to full strength. Stephanie Makovsky holds the ball near the blue line. She passed to Zoe Boyd opposite her. She fired a shot that bounced off Shia D'Angelo's stick and into the back of the net. Although the goal was under review, D'Angelo's goal was determined to be good. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. Makovskiy had to be seated due to interference in the 13th minute and Victory got to work. Abby Boreen held the handle of the puck next to the goal. She looked around, then walked over to Ambrose. She passed to Tabin, who was open. She hit the puck hard into Maschmeyer's net. Tabin's goal sealed the win for Montreal just 35 seconds into their tight contest.
