Leeds United reporter Joe Donnohue shared an injury update with Wilfried Gnonto and the impact of Brenden Aaronson before the championship elimination.

White and Daniel Farke are preparing to return the championship this weekend after clashing with Elland Road in Swansea City on Saturday lunchtime.

Donnohue shared the latest news from the Yorkshire Evening Post, saying Leeds confirmed that Gnonto’s early recovery was due to his ankle injury to the Netherlands last Friday.

Whites are planning to properly evaluate Gnonto in the coming days and have a formal update later this week, while Farke will face the media on Thursday.

“Aaronson is expected to take on the No. 10 role for the foreseeable future, especially if Gnonto needs to undergo a recovery period from the latest knocks,” Donnohue added.

This may not be the news that Leeds fans would like to hear, especially when Donnohue mentioned that many supporters hope that Gnonto will be No. 10 from now until the end of the campaign, while Aaronson has 15 assists in 2025.

However, Gnonto had missed six games in 2023 shortly after Leeds with the Premier League. Nothing similar to that timeline and Italians will play a big role in the ordeal, and so far, comments later this week are crucial after Leeds’ assessments may be crucial.
