Newcastle talks to sign “world-class” PL stars

The summer transfer window is now closed. Well, anyway, the first window is open to suit the early club World Cup needs.

However, Eddie Howe does want to improve as his pies flock to the Champions League. England defender Marc Guehi and Brentford’s right-wing superstar Bryan Mbeumo have been shortlisted, but the latter has since stressed his willingness to sign Manchester United.

Miguel Almiron left in January, with the right still being a priority, and Newcastle set his sights on an interesting Mbeumo alternative.

Newcastle begins negotiating new striker

This is another concern for their trade in England in speculations about Premier League wingers Anthony Elanga and Mohammed Kudus.

Indeed, according to Transfer Insider Graeme Bailey, Newcastle had talks with Brighton & Hove Albion Forward Joao Pedro, and Howe and a the Beak and the Seagulls were ready for sale.

The 23-year-old offered a financial stadium similar to the £60 million rating of Mbeumo for less than £60 million, so he confirmed Manchester United’s ability to initiate a formal bid.

Pedro even expressed a desire to play a different role in Newcastle – and, Howe needs more firepower on the right.

Pedro signed Brighton from Watford two years ago, establishing himself as one of England’s most dynamic strikers, winning 30 goals and 10 assists in 70 appearances.

Not only the shooter, Pedro ranked in the top 1% of strikers in the 2024/25 Premier League season assists, the top 17% of action attempting and creating shooting, and the top 12% of progress in the 90s.

It happened that this balanced performance attracted Mbeumo to become one of his most comparable players. The Cameroon International is primarily a right-wing winger, but is more capable as a focus host, scoring 20 goals in 38 top flights last year.

But he is not only a shooter: Mbeumo created 17 big opportunities, completed 1.4 dribbling and won an average of 4.2 finals. Meanwhile, Pedro created 11 big opportunities, averaged per outing, averaged per dribbling and 4.9 finals, courtesy of Sofascore.

Brighton’s star striker demonstrated such exciting creative and athletic quality and had extensive experience in a variety of offensive roles, which might just be a deal that worked for the scent and introduced Mbeumo extensively.

Mbeumo may be a town topic in the shooting-scoring department, but Pedro himself is not a fake shooter. In fact, content creator Ryan Adsett praised the star’s “world-class” finish, attracting attention to his “magnificent technology.”

Furthermore, the Brazilian’s willingness to play “out of position” shows his intelligence and maturity, as he understands that Alexander Isak is the action-free boulder in ninth place, so brilliantly at his job that few people (if any) – today – the forward who plays football will be able to take his place.

Who knows that Pedro’s ability to thrive in any number of fields might make him better than the bee’s person in the long run, and Howe is known to use this protein profile throughout the frontline, such as Anthony Gordon.

If Pedro really wants to play a role in the right to best serve Newcastle projects, then this must be the deal PIF is seeing on this line. His energy and desire to compete at St. James’Park shows that he can be the latest superstar created under the wings.
