Match preview
Newcastle welcomed Brighton to St James’Park for the second time this season as they clashed in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.
The Seagulls have already won a victory in the Northeast this season, beating Danny Welbeck 1-0 on October.
But Eddie Howe, determined to end Newcastle’s endless trophy drought, has already achieved several finals instead of letting his team pass.
Much of the discussion about the game revolves around whether Alexander Isak is good enough to lead.
He said: “I think it’s obvious to me that if he’s fit into any game before the EFL Cup final, then he’s going to play and we have to keep that mentality with all the players.
“You can’t save players because they lose their pace. The best thing for players to stay in good shape and stay healthy is to play them, and that’s what we’re going to try to do with all the players.”
Eddie Howe at the FA Cup:
“It’s a huge competition. We know how important it is and we won’t take it lightly. It’s going to be a tough game, Brighton has a great performance, and it should be a very exciting cup match. Their looks are very strong and it’s going to be a test for us, but one I… pic.twitter.com/xpkz9y32zc

“I think the team looks completely different when he’s not playing. It’s still a team that can be successful, but they’re going to have to do it differently.
“Alex has excellent qualities. We shape the game into his qualities. He is an outstanding talent, he has skills and abilities, and it is also a way to perform better, which doesn’t respect anyone we have.”
Meanwhile, Brighton owner Fabian Hurzeler is tasked with making fans proud of the club, even though he paused for no promise of a championship.
He added: “First of all, it’s my job. I always try to provide everything for the club and of course, I always want the club to be the most successful of us.
“It’s my job, as well as the staff and the players, so we tried it.
“We assure everyone that we will try our best to give everyone pride on and next to the court, but we cannot guarantee that we will win the championship.
“That’s what we’re going to do, and what we try to do in our daily behaviors and then we’re going to see what’s going to happen in the future.”
Newcastle and Brighton Team News
Eddie Howe on the team:
“Callum is OK, he’s cut, but he’ll be fine. Sven and Joe have a chance, and today is a big day for them. Today, we’ll see how close they are, whether they’re training with the team for the first time or not. Knowing two players, they’ll be… pic.twitter.com/kdvcxshicg

Howe admits Isak, Sven Botman and Joelinton can all be held on Sunday, which is good news for Newcastle fans.
“I believe Callum Wilson is OK. He was cut, but it’s just. He’s fine with his fingers crossing.”
“them [Botman and Joelinton] Have a chance [to play on Sunday]. Today is a big day for them. We will see their condition and whether they are training with the team for the first time. Meet two players and they will be very keen to get involved.
“We will see it today. I didn’t see him [Isak] Since the game. We will see what he looks like today. We don’t think this is a long-term problem. Without adventure on Wednesday, the season stage we entered was impossible.
“Any player is always at risk, but we won’t take his long-term fitness risks. We’ll see where he is today and if he’s healthy, he’ll play.”
Brighton didn’t have that much luck. They still don’t have Joel Veltman, Jason Steele, Ferdi Kadioglu, James Milner and Igor Julio.
Captain Lewis Dunk hopes to be able to return to Newcastle, but Hurzeler confirms that Sunday’s game is too early.
He said: “So far, no other changes. Hopefully it will be. Of course, we look forward to our captain [Dunk] It’s back, but I think it’s too early to play Sunday. ”

Newcastle and Brighton forecast
This weekend is indeed anyone’s game at Tyneside.
Newcastle showed a brilliant glitter, which won them two seasons of Champions League, but the Pies were also vulnerable.
Howe’s team actually played well against Liverpool mid-week, especially without Isaac.
Meanwhile, the Seagulls finally found form again under Hurzeler’s leadership and will support themselves in double performances at St James’ Park.
Cards may have a sweepstakes that may add time and fines, but we are supporting the hosts to make the edge of the south coast side.
Prediction: Newcastle 3-2 Brighton
