Boston Brown Bears Coach Search In Progress
Conor Ryan from Boston.com: Earlier this week, Bruis GM Don Sweeney in Boston said he started with a coach search and gave some speeches.
“I just had a general conversation and introduction,” Sweeney said of the Intel he has received so far from the bishop candidate. “So, I’m going to get into this.
“Previous searches, we went through this and have a lot of collection from the coaches we saw from other coaches that we evaluate the team we have, maybe being portrayed that we will make a transition in that time.”
NHL Rumors: Pittsburgh Penguin and Boston Brown Bear
While the team is still playing, they will have some potential candidates to talk to. A potential candidate could be Misha Donskov, assistant coach of Dallas Stars. Sweeney is the general manager of the Canadian team in four countries, and Donskov is the only NHL assistant among Canadian staff.
Sweeney will consider it internally.
“Joe will be part of the search. Jay Leach will be part of the search,” Sweeney said. “So when I mention we have a new head coach, it’s easy to be one of them.
New Jersey Devils Will Find Third-Tier Center and Re-sign with Luke Hughes
Anthony Di Marco of Daily Stand-off: A few months ago, a source said the New Jersey Devils will not give up their first-round draft picks by the trade deadline after Jack Hughes lost for injury this season.
The Devil’s pre-hand damage plan is to find the third-tier center. Sources say they are interested in Scott Laughton, Ryan O’Reilly and Brayden Schenn. Everyone left their terms on the contract. Their search for the center will continue during the offseason, the source said.
If the devil wants to spend some money, Sam Bennett would be the ideal choice. He will be 29 in June and may be looking for a long-term contract in the range of $7 million or $8 million.
NHL Rumor: New Jersey Devils Will Make Major Squad Upgrades in Offseason
According to the Devils’ team source this offseason, the top priority will be re-signed, pending RFA defensive player Luke Hughes. These devils seem to be open to short-term and long-term trading. A long-term deal could consider Owen Power’s seven-year, $8.35 million AAV as comparable.
