NHL Rumor: Mitch Marner won’t talk about his future, but there’s no reason to think he’ll resign

Mitch Marner says he will think about his future in the next few weeks, but he is talking about Toronto

Sportsnet’s Luke Fox: Mitch Marner once again said their playoff losses are still too fresh to consider the jersey he might wear next season.

“It’s sucking…I hope to play hockey tonight, it’s not the result,” Manner said. “Nothing is expected. Over the next few weeks, I’ll sit down with my wife and we’ll start talking and trying to figure out what’s next.”

Marner sounds like his speech in the past when he talks about Toronto.

NHL Rumor: Nikolaj Ehlers are a priority for Winnipeg Jets this summer

He reflected, “I always love it. I like it.” “It’s amazing. Obviously, it’s been up and down.

“I mean, you feel the love and enthusiasm of this city and thank you forever. It is one of the best cities in the world. And, I’ve always been grateful to not only grow up here, but also wear maple leaves and be a part of history and this team.”

Chris Johnston of Track and Field: Mitch Marner wants to start over somewhere else. He won’t discuss the extension of the season on Toronto Maple Leafs, nor do he believe he will sign an extension with the maple leaf before or on July 1.

Mike Zeisberger from NHL.com: Since Marner doesn’t want to negotiate in the season or give up the trade-free clause for the Carolina Hurricanes on the trade deadline, he seems to be completely planning to test free agents. He will be the highest free agent available, with a command of $13 million.
