Frank Seravalli of Daily Standoff: Seravalli wrote about the top seven players who might be the top seven players to buy candidates 48 hours after the window is issued. As Servavalli, these are just seven, and there are others.
1) TJ Brodie – Chicago Blackhawks
It seems like TJ Brodie on Chicago’s blue line doesn’t have enough room. Brodie’s remaining $3.75 million AAV, and if they’re going to get him out, the Blackhawks will have another two seasons of hats. The year is $3.23 million and the last year is $258,000. While it’s a tough decision and the first year will be hurt, ultimately, it’s probably the best move for a team that’s not ready for the playoffs.

He has $3 million left for five years, which means $1 million per season in 10 years. If it does happen, Bobby Bonilla and Rick Dipietro Day are Engvall. Fortunately, there is no accompanying signature bonus.
3) Matt Dumba – Dallas Stars
As NHLrumors.com records, the Dallas Stars are in a blocking state. One of the names that stars are trying to trade is Matt Dumba, who has only $3.75 million left for a year. Ideally, star general manager Jim Nill wants to trade him. If he can’t, Dunbar will be bought by the Stars, with a cap hit rate of $1.42 million in first grade and $1.2 million in the second year. Even if the blocks rise, they will be switching him to make money from the books.
Note: If they can’t get a team to get the entire salary, then trying to keep the salary for one year (50% ($1.875 million)) makes more sense than buying yourself.

4) Joe Veleno – Chicago Blackhawks
Veleno is no more than 26 years old, which means he has a third of the buyout, not two-thirds, saving the Blackhawks money. After obtaining it from Detroit Red Wings, he has $275,000 a year left. The cost savings will be $1.2 million in real gold, and Chicago will continue Veleno on the book for two seasons: one for $796,000 and the second for $296,000. Chicago needs to figure out who they are.
5) Mathieu Joseph – St. Louis Blues
As Seravalli wrote, Bruce General Manager Doug Armstrong hated acquisitions. Remember, Armstrong has brought everyone into trade barriers this year. But if Bruce wants to maximize the hat space, they can buy Mathieu Joseph, who has only $2.96 million a year left. If Bruce goes on this route, St. Louis will stay with him for two years: one year, $750,000, and the second year is $1.1 million. As the hats rise, none of these blocks hits are terrible.
6) Justin Holl – Detroit Red Wings
This was another contract that made no sense at the time: Justin Holl signed a three-year contract of $10.2 million, with an average annual profit value (AAV) of $3.4 million. Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman had a chance to Hall, but most people knew who he was and most didn’t think he would see a contract in Detroit. If he bought the red wings, he would have been for $11.3 million a year for two years. Now they can hang on him and move him by the deadline.
