Both Ontario reign and Abbotsford Canucks locked the berth in the 2025 Calder Cup playoffs Wednesday night.
Tucson lost 4-3 to Calgary in a playoff loss to both clubs.
The rulers have not been eligible for a playoff game since joining the AHL. Last spring, Ontario swept its first two series before falling into the Coachella Valley in the final.
The Canucks never missed the Calder Cup playoffs and now have the attraction that secures the best record in the series’ four-year history. The club ended with 87 points in 2022-23 and 2023-24.
Seven teams in the Pacific division will enter the playoffs. The first place result will make goodbye to the semifinals, while the second round of the second round will meet in the first round series of two-thirds.
