Philadelphia Flyer, Boston Brown Bears Connection with New York Islanders
Stefen Rosner of RG.org: Sources say Philadelphia’s Flyer and Boston Bruins are two teams that have gathered New York Islanders about the pending RFA defensive player Alexander Romanov.
The islanders and Romanov’s camp have already underway for preliminary contract negotiations, with more negotiations expected after the draft. Romanov may be looking for something in the range of $5 to $6 million. He qualifies for arbitration. If the Islanders were to move him, they might be looking for a late first-round pick or early-round pick. The Islanders sent the 13th pick to the Montreal Canadaens at the 2022 Romanov draft.
James Murphy reported that the Brown Bear had asked the Islander Center Jean-Gabriel Pageau. Islanders and the Brown Bears have already talked about the Brown Bears’ seventh draft pick.
A source is said to be following Bruis RFA defender Mason Lohrei because he may be moving.
If the Islanders decide to explore the market for RFA defender Noah Dobson, the Brown Bears will be interested.
Flyers may be interested in trading, waiting for RFA defender Cam York. For flyers like Romanov’s game style, he will upgrade Egor Zamula and Nick Seeler. The flyer ranks sixth in the draft.
If the Islanders can somehow get the No. 6 or 7 draft pick, Long Island native James Hagens can offer it.
TSN: Boston Bruises GM Don Sweeney said they will be willing to hold a first-round draft pick after Marco Sturm’s press conference.
