This is part 2 of our National Preparatory School Invitational Scout Article. This article includes a brief overview of some of the most promising recruits in the NPSI this year, as well as some of the 2028-grade new stars.
Top Classes of 2026 New Recruits
Hunter Te Ratana (6’4″ Darrow School)
Among the recruits from NPSI in 2025. Te Ratana demonstrates his high potential at both ends of the floor. The New Zealander is an attractive athlete, an explosive escaper, and he has a lot of creativity in his dunk. His quick, repeatable, almost automatic movements, capture and dribble are shown to be the next level two defenders. Tough, because there are endless motors on the nails on the defensive end. Te Ratana will do a great job in transition/fast playback.
Promis n’landu (6’3″ in, Fort Erie International Academy)
A senior point guard with impressive scores and a 6-foot-5 wingspan. N’landu will be a crafty 3-level scoring PG with excellent court vision and passing abilities. Have good handles and abilities that can change speed and direction to create for yourself or his teammates. Along the driveway, he will use his developed upper body, tight handles and explosive hops. He holds Arizona, Seton Hall, George Mason, Colorado State University and St. Bonaventure (St.
Quinn Costello (6’10 inches, Newman School)
A tall and promising big man who will stretch the floor well due to his impressive long-range shooting mechanism from the long-range size, smooth shooting mechanics. His game has a lot of room for improvement. Very maneuverable, expected to apply pressure on the glass and roll over the basket, is also a LOB target.
Lucas Morillo (6’7 inches, Newman School)
The skilled combo defender of the Dominican Republic showed a very smooth offensive game. It seems to be read well, showing advanced decision making skills. Will be an effective third-level scorer and a cunning handler/promoted insertion action.
Top Classes of 2027 New Recruits
Nalajah Christopher (6’3″, Darrow School)
A very talented and lengthy defender who has a developing athletic framework that he is expected to fill in over time. Christopher showed great feelings about the game and made impressive mature decisions for his age (for two years). Having a high upside can become a senior IQ leader guard with a solid defense. It is reported that it has a good work ethic.
DJ Hawkins (6’7″ in Saint Thomas More)
A promising high wing with athletic ability and lengthy frame (+3 wingspan). It is expected to be a deadly three-point shooter in the next stage, especially a live shooter. As a two-way player, there is a high room for improvement.
Deng Ngor (6’7 inches, Fort Erie International)
Ngor is another interesting prospect for the 2027 class, a 6-foot-7 wing with elite body attributes and excellent motors. Thanks to his outstanding efforts and physical tools, he showed promising peripheral skills and high potential on the defensive end. Already hold quotes from Stone Hill, Colorado, George Mason and Arizona State University.
Jaylin Williams Crawford (6’7″ in, cat)
Williams Crawford’s other tall wing has a lot of athleticism and physical attributes, with a smooth offensive game, which can be fatal at long distances.
Elijah McNair (St. Andrew’s 6’4″)
A huge, strong and physically 6-foot-4 wing, he is older than his age. McNair can do his best to thrive on playing – he can strode upwards, hit the ball from medium to long distance, bounce well, and execute challenges for himself or his teammates.
Grade 2028 – Potential Rising Stars
Malachi Odugbela (6’4, St. Andrew’s Church)
Among the youngest and most promising players in the event, Odugbela proves that he belongs there despite his age. Odugbela has solid basketball genes (father plays basketball), and despite his thin railroads and well developed, he knows the game well beyond his age and scores well on long-range shots. . He is expected to add a few more inches and fill the frame well over time. Odugbela has high potential as a two-way player, thanks to his elite body tools and advanced instincts. College coaches should be consistent with his further development.
Kyle
It can be said that one of the best defenders in the 2028 grade in the United States. For Providence’s children, the future seems to be “bright”. He can become the chief guard of the elite over time and representatives. He is talented, his handles are volatile, and he is able to change pace and direction. His dexterity and strength, he did not avoid any contact with basketball. Most importantly, he was very resilient to the guards. It was reported that he was playing football first, but once he started playing basketball, he realized it was his sport. Kyle Delves seems to have all the necessary prerequisites to become an elite guard on the next level.
