The playoff history of the Edmonton Oilers and Las Vegas Golden Cavaliers is growing. The Heavyweights of the two Pacific Division clashed in the second round of 2023, with Vegas playing in the series in six games, but it wasn’t a totally smooth sailing.
The first game was completely paid for the kind of battle everyone expected, but the Oiler first made the game, winning a 4-2 victory in the third phase of the game-winning goal by Zach Hyman.

The Oilers played from behind again and found a way tonight against Las Vegas. Edmonton entered the third inning with a 2-1 record and took the game with a 1-0 lead. That being said, this is how the first game developed.
Game review
Las Vegas buzzed in the offensive zone, and the first line stopped in the first round.
Vegas capitalized in double waves against the Oilers, Mark Stone opened the score with Shea Theodore shooting percentage. With traffic jams creases in front of Calvin Pickard, Stone’s redirection found the back of the net, giving the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead.
Soon after, it was the fourth time in the playoffs in Stone, giving the Golden Knights a 2-0 lead. Corey Perry put the Oilers on the board after Connor McDavid did a nice job of setting it to 2-1.
There were many back and forth movements in the second stage, and both teams were trading opportunities, but no network was found. This changed when Leon Draisaitl hit the puck out of the air like a baseball, equalizing the game 2-2 and waving Edmonton.
As the game seemed to be overtime, Heyman scored, giving Edmonton a 3-2 lead, before Connor Brown finished the game 4-2 in the break-in.
The Golden Knights will hope to bounce at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, while the Oilers will hope to lead 2-0 and win a fifth straight win for the fifth time.
