Victor Olofsson won the game late in the third phase, giving the Vegas Golden Knights a 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night at the Rogers Arena. Aatu Raty tied two points on the second time after Nils Hoglander scored in the return roster and Nick Roy won the Golden Knights lead, but they won a solid third-quarter victory as the Golden Knights played throughout the season.
With the victory, the Golden Knights are closer to winning the Pacific Division Championship, increasing the lead to the LA Kings’ five points. Due to their record of 47-22-8, they are now sitting at 102 points. Meanwhile, the Canucks are still eight points behind the field in Minnesota, with the final wildcard with only five games left. At this point, they will need a miracle to have a chance to make the playoffs. That way, this is your game review.
Game review
Karnak started scoring early in the first game, with Hogland scrambling for Golden Knights goalkeeper Adin Hill in the seventh season of the season. After the Blue Line close, the Golden Knights reacted less than four minutes later, and the Blue Line put Ivan Barbashev into a partial disconnect. He was able to lead Filip Hronek and showed a smooth Dirk on his backhand to beat Kevin Lankinen. The Golden Knights then beat Canucks’ defensive Victor Mancini with a lucky bounce in 13:15 after Lankinen saved after Roy’s long-range shot. The Canucks will head to the road for two quick games, which is Tuesday’s match against the Dallas Stars. The Golden Knights will also play on Tuesday as they will be in the avalanche in Colorado.
