According to former goalkeeper Paul Robinson, Leeds United can make a “signing” this summer by bringing a £34m striker.
Leeds pursues Premier League scorer
Joel Piroe has been awesome in the championship game this season, scoring 15 goals, the highest in the second-tier unit, but Leeds is believed to be looking for a new striker as the promotion to the Premier League is now beckoning.
One goal they thought of was Cameron Archer of Southampton, who was said to be keen to move to Elland Road this summer, and the Saints would almost certainly leave the top flight.
The 49ers are said to be watching AC Milan striker Tammy Abraham, who is currently on loan at Roma, while the former Chelsea man is looking to return to the Premier League.

Many British clubs are lined up for Abraham, who spent £34m in August 2021, meaning it may be difficult to reach a deal, but Robinson recently said Leeds should go all out to sign the striker.
The former goalkeeper said: “Joel Piroe was there to play. He led the line. He scored goals this season. But in reality, you look like a far-reaching ninth place and someone like Tammy Abraham would be perfectly suited.
“He is currently on loan, but his contract is already on at the end of the season. So if he goes out with his contract now at the end of the season, you would think he has no future at the parents club. So such a signing would also be a statement signed by Leeds because he is the quality player Leeds needs.”
Abraham may be Leeds’s first signing
It wasn’t Roma’s best season on loan in Milan, but he still managed to score eight goals in all games, including two in the Champions League, and his top class means he can succeed on Elland Road.
The 27-year-old, who was known as the “Beast” in the past, has also impressed the British League in the past, scoring a total of 26 goals in England’s top lead, including 15 goals in a season in Chelsea in 2019-20.
Given his level of interest, it may be difficult for him to win the British striker, but if Leeds is promoted this season and hopes to avoid an immediate return to the championship, he is what the signing needs.
Although Piroe has been very impressive this season, the Dutchman has not proven at the Premier League level, which does not guarantee that he will play the most, and Abraham has a good record of scoring goals on top flights.
