New Orleans' two professional sports teams, the Pelicans and Saints, spoke out about a terrorist attack in the city involving a pickup truck early Wednesday morning after New Year's Eve celebrations.

Shamsud Din Jabbar deliberately drove his white pickup truck through a crowd on Bourbon Street
Just after 3 a.m. local time on New Year's Day, a white pickup truck deliberately drove through a crowd of people on Bourbon Street, killing 10 people and injuring more than 30 people.
The suspect has been identified as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar. According to NBC News, the FBI has confirmed that ISIS flags and improvised explosive devices were found at the scene.

“Investigators are working to determine his potential ties and affiliations with terrorist organizations,” the FBI said. “Agent bomb technicians are working with law enforcement partners to determine whether the devices are feasible, and they will work to secure them. ”
Dinjabal, a U.S. citizen from Texas, reportedly worked for Deloitte and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Deloitte “provides industry-leading audit, consulting, tax and consulting services to many of the world's most admired brands, including 80% of the Fortune 500,” according to the London-based firm's website.
New Orleans Pelicans senior vice president Swain Cash issued a statement
Pelicans senior vice president Swain Cash also addressed the terrorist attack.
“Thank you to everyone who called and texted – my family and I are safe, but our hearts are heavy,” Cash wrote. “Senseless evil targeted at innocent lives is devastating.”

The Pelicans are scheduled to play a road game against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night, while the Saints will face the Tampa Buccaneers on Sunday in Week 18.
The Sugar Bowl, originally scheduled for Wednesday night at 8:45 pm ET at Caesars Dome in New Orleans, has been moved to Thursday night at the same time.
