Edmonton Oilers fans were delighted when they announced that their team had acquired Matt Savoie from the Buffalo Saber. The 21-year-old was selected as ninth in 2022 and is regarded as the prospect of a fringe elite, instantly becoming the best young work in the Oilers organization.

What makes the deal better is that it only requires the Oiler to ship with an overwhelming forward from Ryan McLeod, and the prospect Tyler Tullio. It’s a move that confuses the world of hockey because it feels like the Oilers have won the slide.
Some were optimistic about taking Savoie out of camp last fall. The coaching staff finally decided to assign him to the American Hockey League (AHL) to best guide his first professional season. He started slowly but now scored 37 points in 45 AHL games, which is enough to win his call in mid-February.
Savoie has no real chance
Like when he was first acquired, the Oilers fans were very excited when it was announced that Savay was recalled. Given his season in the AHL, this seems well deserved, and many think he can step in and provide some of the secondary scores they desperately need.
Savoie started well, Savoie got his first NHL point in his first period and performed well behind the Philadelphia Flyers to build Leon Draisaitl. People would think that this type of game would give him more opportunities, but that was not the case.
Savoie is suitable for the next two games, but doesn’t spend a lot of time doing what he does best. Although the Oilers have been struggling during both outings, Savoie came out in a healthy scratch with the Florida Panthers on Thursday.
This decision has encountered many confusions. It didn’t help the Oilers’ fate when they lost to the Panthers 4-3. The losses seem to suggest that Savoie will return to the roster with the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, but it was announced that Savoie will be left out of the roster again shortly before Puck’s drop.
While you can understand that head coach Kris Knoblauch wants to put the best lines together to help his team win, you have to wonder why they call Savoie in full. If the program was to offer any potential calls with limited minutes, or even sometimes even sitting in the news box, it would make more sense for people to think of James Hamblin, Drake Kagilla, and even Derek Ryan.
Scraping Savoie didn’t help his development
The Oilers are largely due to success in recent years, so there is not much noticeable prospect in their system. Savoie is the gem of loneliness, which makes it very important for the organization to do everything possible to ensure that he develops to the point where he is ready to become an influential NHLER as soon as possible.
The story is interesting, having him call him and keep him getting a lot of time and power play time in the AHL, and he’s better at developing than having him sit down to watch the game. If it was a plan to let him sit for any period of time, the Oiler would have better sent him back.

The best decision in the minds of most oil workers is to play him and give him a real chance in the first six minutes. He proved himself very powerful in his early days in his debut. With how much effort the team has made to score outside of Leon Draisaitl, they can also see their figure, hoping he can help provide some offense.
