Prairie Golf Club Review

Prairie Golf Club
Kalamazoo, Michigan
Level: b
Teacher’s comment: A good community course.

The Prairie Golf Club is a delightful park course dating back to 1912. Just minutes from downtown Kalamazoo, it is an oasis in the urban environment.

At one point, the property was called Maple Hill Country Club. Apparently, it went bankrupt before it was reopened in 1944 by Elk Lodge No. 50 in Kalamazoo, and as far as I know, still owns the course today.

The thirteenth place in the Prairie Golf Club is 464 yards and 4 strokes

The grassland is a very playable route. The fairway is wide; the green size is large; the water only appears in ninth place. As with the process of this year, the fairways are mostly parallel and straight.

This is not to say that the prairie is boring. Most holes have some kind of elevation variation, from soft to severe. The green green is good and shoots from one side of the fairway or the other. Willful lenses can roll into tall fescue.

Enough on the prairie, not defeating the players.

The six at the Prairies Golf Club are 408 yards and 4 shots.

The Prairie is also a beautiful course that adds charm. Tall fescue and other prairie grasses on the edge add texture. The trees with the separation holes are well-pruned, but have definitions.

The eighteenth place in the Prairies Golf Club is 485 yards and 5 strokes.

The Prairie Golf Club has a lot of pleasant holes, but the cave as an example is the fifth eighteen.

I mean the example is, the eighteenth has everything that gives the route characteristics. It has a wide fairway with prairie grass on the edge that rises from the T-shirt to the landing area. The edge tree has added definitions, but is largely unusable.

From the landing area, the hole is Parklands, with a relatively flat path to green. The shallow bunker protects the green sides.

It’s a pleasant and visually pleasing hole and a great way to end a round.

The Prairie Golf Club is on the short side and the tip is 6 inches and 208 yards. However, I think this makes it an ideal course for senior disabilities, older people and women.

Ball mount code slope grade
Black 6, 208 M: 128 W: 134 M: 70.6 W: 76.6
White 5,955 M: 125 W: 132 M: 69.3 W: 132
Gold 5,401 M:119 W:124 M: 66.4 W: 71.9
Red 4,686 M:113 W:117 M: 63.2 W: 67.5
The eighth place in the Prairie Golf Club is 376 yards and 4 shots.

I was in good condition the day I played. Fairways, T-shirt boxes and greens are all planted and easy to prevail. The principal and his staff obviously take care of the course.

Prairie Golf Club is a class I would love to play again. Kalamazoo is too far from repeated visits at Golfblogger World Trequarters, but if I live in the area it would be a regular stop.
