The Carolina Hurricanes are entering the final weekend of the regular season, hoping to play four games against the New York Rangers. After a road trip of 0-3-1, hopefully they can heal the home cooking they need. Saturday afternoon game (April 12) is the first of the back-to-back games ending the regular season home schedule. Additionally, the Hurricanes have a chance to sweep the Rangers and eliminate them from the playoffs. When the final horn sounded, they just won 7-3.

From the jump, the game was all Hurricanes as they ended up scoring seven goals at Igor Sheshterkin, their way to their 31st home victory. The player who stood out for the Hurricanes in this game was Seth Jarvis’ three-pointer. His first point was in the first stage as Jalen Chatfield’s secondary assist put him 1-0 ahead. His first phase was his first six minutes later as he scored his 32nd goal of the season after some good games from Sebastian Aho and Jackson Blake. The first line of Jarvis, Aho and Blake is entering the 2025 NHL playoffs. From the first round, these three could cause some damage to the hurricane and hopefully more.

The third point of Jarvis’s game was in the second stage as Blake’s main assist from his 17th goal this season gave him a 3-0 lead in just two minutes in the middle frame. Jarvis’ assists put him in 34 points this season, with his 32 goals in 66 games with three games left. Blake also ended up playing multiple points and had a goal and assist.
Jordan Staal also played multiple points in the then 5-1 game after scoring the goal earlier in the third stage. He was then able to get assists for Jordan Martinook’s empty net goal, beat the game 6-3 and gave him two points that night. Logan Stankoven and Mark Jankowski continue to score for new teams, with their 14th and 12 goals of the season, respectively.

The Hurricane won Game 31 at home, scored a 31-8-1 record at the Lenovo Center and won a franchise record. They competed with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday, April 13, completing their regular season home schedule and back-to-back second game. Carolina has a chance to set a new home win. Additionally, the victory gave them a record of 47-27-5 (99 points), with three games left before the 2025 NHL playoffs begin. Can they win 50 before they finish?

The Hurricane (47-27-5) competes in the last home game of the regular season on Sunday, April 13. Hockey Drops are planned for 5 p.m. Eastern. Regarding the rangers, they were officially eliminated from the playoffs at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 14 at 7 p.m. on the Eastern Conference at 7 p.m. on the Florida Panthers, with only a few games left.
