LIV Golf and Fox Sports have held “high-level discussions” regarding a television deal for the 2025 season, SportsBusiness Journal reported on Tuesday.
More specific details are unclear, including which Fox property will broadcast the game and whether Fox will pay for the broadcast rights, the report said. What is clear is that LIV Golf will gain increased exposure and credibility if a deal is struck with a major network.
The CW network has aired LIV Golf for the past two seasons, but ratings have been low. According to Golfweek, fewer than 100,000 people tuned in to watch Jon Rahm win the 2024 individual championship.
LIV Golf plans to hold its 2025 individual championship Aug. 15-17 at the Chatham Hills Club near Indianapolis. These dates do not conflict with NFL games or college football games broadcast by Fox or the network's FS1 affiliate.
