Eberechi Eze’s clinical 16-minute strike has given Crystal Palace its first major trophy in the 2025 FA Cup final and ensured Manchester City will win the campaign for the first time since 2016/17 without major honors.
The Palace spent most of its time under pressure on most of the game, but their first meaningful offensive score when Eze first fired from the box, met Daniel Munoz’s cross with a great right foot, surpassing Ederson with his sixth goal in five games.
City won the first half penalty when Tyrick Mitchell dropped Bernardo Silva, which only allowed Dean Henderson to kick Omar Marmoush out after the striker was handed to the ball by regular Taker Erling Haaland.
Henderson was lucky enough to stay on the court when the England goalkeeper was handling the ball outside the free throw area, but the Palace only denied the second time in the second half when the video assistant referee (VAR) checked Munoz’s strike ruler Ismaila Sarr crossed.

FA Cup Final 2025: Eze Goals Make Eagles Glory
In a dynamic final, the city – the main team of British football between 2017 and 2024, entered their third FA Cup final – started with a lot of possession and goals, with top scorer Erling Haaland among the players denied by the outstanding Henderson Saves.
Marmoush was signed in January to kick the right side of Henderson, but the former Manchester United goalkeeper guessed correctly, bounced to beat the effort and then returned to his feet to collect the ball from City’s attempt to capitalize the ball from the rebound.
Haylan missed three of his seven penalty shots in all of the 2024/25 matches, including Bournemouth in the quarterfinals, and he seemed to decide not to seize the opportunity, kissing the ball and Mamosey on the head while handing the opportunity to Egyptian strikers.
While it is not clear that City had arranged for Heyland to resign from his duties before the game, he seemed less trouble when he was piecing balls outside the box to stop two Premier League golden boots from winning, but one var comment did nothing.

2025 FA Cup Final: Man City loses again
City’s season has reached an unfortunate season since the appointment of Pep Guardiola in 2016, another result and performance forgetting, working to break the impressive organized opponent defense against opponents with 23 points.
After the restart, the eight-time FA Cup winner looks more convincing in a firm effort, but the Palace continues to threaten in rest and fixed matches, unfortunately not to score again through reliable danger Munoz.
There was a sense of despair about the introduction of the 19-year-old debut Claudio Echeverri from 14 minutes later, although Argentina Youthing International was one of several players blocked in the box during the closing ceremony.
City icon Kevin de Bruyne will also end his last season at the club without silverware. The Palace’s achievements, which prevented the organizers and the rest of the teams that once won the final, ended with the history the Eagles deserved, the first new name in the FA Cup since Leicester City in 2021.
