If you're thinking about your golf shoes, something isn't right.

My golf shoe collection is in the double digits, a reflection of my inability to get the fit and comfort right.

I usually struggle with sizing because one foot is bigger than the other, otherwise some shoes are not suitable for wet weather and others are good for 18 holes, but that can wreak havoc if you want to play 36 holes in a day .

The look of the others let them down, two were too heavy and clumped together, and a pair fell apart after less than a year.

The ECCO S-Three shoes are different and outstanding.

If you ask most golfers who makes the most comfortable golf shoes, anyone who has ever worn ECCO will attest to them.

There are many great shoe brands out there today – FootJoy sets the trend, and Under Armor is another famous and great brand – but when it comes to comfort, ECCO reigns supreme.

I've been wearing S-Three shoes for the past 10 rounds and I haven't given them much thought other than how comfortable and unobtrusive they are. Generally speaking, things can get a little off by about the 15th, but these are good for playing any amount of golf in a day.

Are they really waterproof?

Playing a lot of golf in the UK is an absolute must. S-Three uses Gore-Tex technology and is 100% waterproof. Many shoes may claim to keep your feet dry, but I can guarantee that after enough wet, rough pavement, your feet will be just as dry as when you started. Many shoes are waterproof but may have the odd wet patch, but these shoes will keep out all moisture. Also, they are highly breathable for those special occasions when the sun is out.

What is technology?

Launched in 2020, these shoes feature a technology called Zonal Fluidform Technology, which creates a molded midsole with three distinct zones of softness. The midsole is medium soft in the heel for cushioning and comfort, stiffer in the middle for lateral stability, and softest in the front for comfort. The hybrid outsole design offers over 100 traction bars and 800 traction angles for excellent traction in all playing conditions, and for a shoe so comfortable, they're also very stable throughout the swing . Again, you won't be thinking about them when you throw yourself toward the driver, and they'll feel like they move with you during the swing, rather than being planted like some shoes that offer similar stability.

What does it look like?

For a company that's a leader in golf “street shoes,” these shoes may be more about golf than wearing them away from the course. But they still have a sleek and simple look, have some really neat details, and come in a variety of colors to suit everyone, male or female.

Anything else to mention?

The S-3 has a removable studded sole to aid in any adjustments. These provide another level of comfort while also ensuring you get the correct size. Plus, the laces never come loose, helping to fit the shoe as snugly as possible.
