Rishabh Pant is a prisoner of his own image – Deep Dasgupta
Former India player Deep Dasgupta has shared his thoughts on Rishabh Pant's inconsistent performance in international cricket. Pant showed promise in his first innings but failed to convert it into significant runs in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
Deep expressed concern over Pant's overly aggressive approach and mentioned that he was trying to control the opposition. He pointed out that Pant played well in the first innings but was disrupted in two dangerous shots against Scott Boland, leading to his dismissal.
“Rishabh Pant is a prisoner of his own image. He tries to be too aggressive and thinks he has to dominate the opponent. Pant played well in the first innings, but those two shots against Scott Bolan left him feeling disturbed.
“He missed the first one but was out in the second. Pant looked comfortable in the middle but didn't score to back that up. The positive thing about him is that he has no negativity,” Deepdas said Gupta said.
