Pohlcat has new management on pleasant hills

News that Central Michigan players might be interested in: Mount Pleasant’s Pohlcat struck a deal with Troon to oversee golf operations, agronomics, food and beverages, as well as sales and marketing.

Pohlcat was designed by PGA Tour Winner and Pleasant Mation Dan Pohl. Michigan golfers are well known. I gave an A- in the Pohlcat golf course review.

Scottsdale-based Troon serves over 940 locations in 45 states and 40 countries. In addition to golf, it manages homeowners associations, estates and hotel venues.

I’ve met Dan Polh a few times and he looks like a very good guy. I hope the deal with Troon will be resolved.

Selected to manage the Pohlcat golf course in Mount Pleasant, Michigan

Scottsdale, Arizona. (April 4, 2025) – Troon^®a leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services is pleased to announce that it has been selected to manage the daily fee courses in Mount Pleasant, Michigan Pohlcat Golf Course. Troon Company Indigo Sports will oversee golf operations, agronomics, food and beverages, and sales and marketing.

The 18-hole layout of Pohlcat is designed by former PGA Tour Professional and Mountain Pleasant Dan Pohl, with beautiful tree-lined fairways played on the scenic 100-foot-wide Chippewa River. The Par-72, 6,954 code course was opened in 1992 and comes with modern and classic link style holes. Pohlcat also has a wide range of practice facilities including practice range, chopped greens and two putting greens.

Pohlcat’s clubhouse includes Den Bar & Grill, a fully equipped golf shop and golf simulator for year-round enjoyment. The property’s newly renovated banquet facilities can be used for meetings, weddings and events, and can accommodate up to 275 guests, while the covered balcony overlooks the golf course and the Chippeva River.
