Arsenal targets ‘explosive’, £25m Martinelli and Trossard upgrade

Although they still have Champions League chances, Arsenal’s domestic season is now over.

Mikel Arteta’s side fell from the FA Cup and League Cup and was far ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League.

Now, while the huge damage the club had to deal with this year undoubtedly played a role in disappointing situations, the bland form of their attackers did not help either.

For example, neither Leandro Trossard nor Gabriel Martinelli went to their best form, which, according to recent reports, could cost them their position next season.

Arsenal’s winger search

According to a recent Spanish report, Arsenal is one of several teams interested in signing the exciting Igor Paixão of Feyenoord.

In fact, the report, along with the Gunners, revealed that Premier League Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Bournemouth have been contacted and expressed interest in signing exciting wingers.

While the level of competition is far from ideal, the good news is that this may not be a particularly expensive deal, with the report saying players on the Dutch side are worth about €30 million, or about £25 million.

Overall, while crossing this line can be a complicated transfer, Paixão’s huge quality makes it worth pursuing, especially since he could be a perfect upgrade for Martinelli and Trossard.

How Paixão compares with Trossard and Martinelli

The good news for Arsenal and Arteta is that with Bukayo Saka and now Ethan Nwaneri, the right-wing stance may and may be expected to be covered in the next few years.

Unfortunately, this season proves that the opposite side cannot be said, as Martinelli has been underperforming since last year, and Trossard has also taken a major step in effectiveness.

So Arsenal should do everything possible to bring the Feyenoord star to Emirates this summer before getting him first.
