The 2024-25 season has ended for Seattle Kraken for a while. Although they didn’t have a great season and didn’t get the playoffs for the second consecutive year, they ended the season 35-41-6. Each player on the team contributes in a different way, some players perform better than others. Let’s take a look at how Adam Larsson performed in the 2024-25 season.
Larsson is one of several remaining original members of Kraken. It was his fourth season with Cleken but ranked 14th overall after Seattle picked him from the Edmonton Oilers in the expansion draft. He is certainly a veteran of the team as he hits a milestone of 900 professional games this season and overall 930 games.
Larson has played in all 82 games this season, and he has recorded 28 points with seven goals and 21 assists. His career total was 52 goals and 189 assists, reaching 241 points. He is 22 years old and his career is normal/decreased and is now 50 years old. His average ice time (TOI) averaged 21:11 minutes this season. It’s not surprising considering that he plays on Seattle’s highest defensive line. In terms of scoring, Larsson scored 112 goals, making a total of 263 shot attempts.
On the defense, Larson had 148 blocks and 104 hits. Unfortunately, he owns gifts more than takeaways, with 55 gifts to 33 takeaways. He did his best in his defensive performance, even though it wasn’t his best season.
The 2022-23 season was Larsson’s best season in Seattle one mile. He recorded 33 points with 8 goals and 25 assists. Most importantly, it was his best score in his career in a season so far. As far as his defensive statistics are concerned, the season is the best for him, with 173 blocks and 222 hits. However, it was his best professional season in the neighborhood, but his best result was in the 2018-19 year when he recorded 256 times with the Edmonton Oilers. His giveaways and takeaways were also better this season, with 32 takeaways and only 30 giveaways.
Before the 2024-25 season began, Kraken signed a four-year contract with a value of $21 million and an average annual profit of $5.25 million (AAV). He has been locked until at least Seattle’s 2028-29 season. If they don’t sign him, he will enter the free agent market as an Unlimited Free agent (UFA). As he is part of Kraken’s top defensive pairing, his partner Vince Dunn signed to the 2026-27 season, Seattle also hopes to keep Larsson in the long term.

The premise is that the two have no trades before the 2025-26 season, and both Dunn and Larson seem to be a possible best match to start the next season. Sure, a lot may happen over the next five months, but Larson and Dunn were both Claken’s best defensive performances last season. Larsson’s performance in 2024-25 shows why he should get that position in the top pairing in 2025-26.
Larson hasn’t set a new personal best this season, but it’s not a bad guy anyway. From all statistics starting this season, he will get a B+. He was on the ice when someone scored and put himself in a scoring chance. He made his best attempt with his defensive performance, but it wasn’t his best season anyway. However, he continued to go all out until the end of the season. After all, there is a reason he is the highest pairing, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he stayed there in the 2025-26 season.
