Senators avoided the elimination of Game 4 overtime victory – Hockey Writer – Ottawa Senator

With Jake Sanderson, the Ottawa Senator found a way to live during the season, and his overtime goal helped to beat Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 in Game 4 of Ontario. The game went back and forth all night, as Ottawa led three times, including two goals in the first phase, just to give the Maple Leafs a score even in every battle. Like the first three games, the special team played a big role in Saturday’s results as Tim Stützle opened the scoring on the man’s edge, the Senators killed four minutes of power play chances for the Maple Leafs in overtime before eventually winning the game and saving the season.

This is the third consecutive overtime in the series, and unlike the previous two games, the Senators were able to grab the clutch in overtime. Linus Ullmark scored 31 saves in the first win of the series, while Anthony Stolarz scored 17 saves in 21 shots as Toronto now leads 3-1.

Game review

Saturday’s knockout began with 10 minutes above the sky, followed by a 9:03 Stützle goal. Stützle extended one of the SENS members to Stolarz when he gave him two minutes to roughen him two minutes after Max Domi. Sanderson and Brady Tkachuk received assists on the opening goal of the game.
