Spurs strike first against Manchester United to gain an advantage in the All-British final

Tottenham Hotspurs gained an edge over Manchester United in the All-Europa League final, a goal from Luke Shaw.

To a large extent, Shaw’s own goal fell into a fierce welcome at the end of the first half of the cage at San Mames Stadium, as the North London London Club sought its first major trophy since 2008.

The breakout was just three minutes before the break, and Pape Sarr fell from left to Brennan Johnson’s teasing cross.

The Wales International slid a bit, but the ball slipped off his leg, bounced and hit Shaw in the chest, before surpassing the reach of Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana.

It’s a goal – the Spurs have been targeted for the first time in the finals since Jonathan Woodgate 17 years ago – which seems to have accomplished nothing. Before that, the best chance of the game fell on the lively Amad Diallo, who had a quarter of his hour vanished, driving the goal violently from a nervous angle.

But the ball escaped everyone and surpassed the distant post.

Diallo looks like the most dangerous player on the court, but it’s Angel Postecoglou’s lead.

And hopes of winning the trophy in Australia’s second season are still very likely.
