Sri Lanka ODI vs New Zealand T20Is lineup announced; includes unlimited IPL recruitment
Sri Lanka has announced its 17-man squad, led by captain Charith Asalanka, for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand. 23-year-old uncapped pacer Eshan Malinga, who was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 120 crore in the IPL 2025 auction, has been included in the squad.
Eshan Malinga was recently signed by SA20 side Paarl Royals as England cricketer John Turner's replacement for the 2025 season, which begins on January 1 Starting on the 9th.
The selectors dropped Dushan Hemantha, Kusal Perera, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Dishan Madushanka from the ODI squad. Perera returned to the ODI squad in the last series against New Zealand but did not play. Hermansa replaced Hasaranga in the last series.
Sri Lanka's ODI squad includes batsman Nuwanidu Fernando and pacer Lahiru Kumara. Fernando, who made his debut in 2023, has played five ODIs, while Kumara last played in March this year.

Sri Lanka win both practice matches against New Zealand ahead of limited-overs series
Sri Lanka won both practice matches against the New Zealand XI at Lincoln's Bert Sutcliffe Oval on December 23, ahead of the limited-overs series.
In the first game, they chased down the target of 95 runs in just 10.5 overs and won by 7 wickets. In the second match, they batted first and scored 128 runs in 10 overs and defended the total by 32 runs.
The tour will continue with a three-match T20I series at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on December 28. The second T20I is scheduled to be played at the same venue on December 30 and the third will be held in Nelson on January 2, 2025.
The three ODI matches between Lankan Lions and Black Caps are scheduled for Wellington Basin Reserve (January 5, 2025), Hamilton Seddon Park (January 8) and Auckland's Eden Park (January 11 day).
