The Nerd Technique Behind Bryson DeChambeau’s Revival

Not long ago, experts speculated that Bryson DeChambeau’s best golf was behind him.

After he started Liv Golf’s green (more profitable) ranch from the PGA Tour in the summer of 2022, DeChambeau’s game began to move in the wrong direction. He failed to win in his debut LIV season and sophomore campaign and eliminated the top 100 in both the OWGR and Data Golf rankings. In this way, the once powerful Dechambeau looks…ordinary.

However, in the true Bryson way, he refused to accept his pedestrian drama. He went to work again – and to some extent used an app designed for swing nerds.

Enter Sportsbox AI. The app you can download to your phone uses state-of-the-art technology to analyze swing videos and spit out hundreds of data points about your body’s movement. It’s a cat with swing freaks and dataheads, perfect for players who think about the game like DeChambeau.

Since DeChambeau and Golf Top 100 teacher Dana Dahlquist started using the app to monitor DeChambeau’s swing, Bryson, along with his driver, found new (fatal) gear.

But don’t believe our words. When asked what the secret to his elite driving this week, DeChambeau quickly got Sportsbox.

“Dana and Sportsbox have done some fine tuning, just trying to get the face into the impact zone more stably every time and making sure I feel comfortable when I hit it on my toes and heels,” Dechambeau said. “What do the toes do? What do the heels do? Make sure when I accidentally hit the toes or accidentally hit the heels, it’s still working, and I miss it in the right place. But, for the most part, I feel like I feel like I’m starting to swing more freely.”

If DeChambeau continues to drive the ball his own way, he may end up with a third-place main title this week.

3 things I’m thinking

yips? What is YIPS?

You would never know last week at the Faladelphia Cricket Club, but this tour’s latest signature champion Sepp Straka (Sepp Straka) struggled with Chipping Yips during college. This should bring hope to everyone who is fighting a similar disease.

It’s raining, it’s falling

This week, Mother Nature is definitely a quail hollow. My colleague at the media center said that this is a downpour. Expect the winner to become a bomber. In other words, this is one of the pre-Tour favorites: Rory, Scotty, Ram, JT…

The winner is…

Given all the filth, give me Bryson a victory. He was close at Augusta, but I think he finished the game this week.
