Leon Draisaitl scored his second goal in a 19:29 overtime power play, and Edmonton beat the Florida Panthers 4-3 in the 2025 Stanley Cup final at Rogers Place on Wednesday (June 4).

Viktor Arvidsson and Mattias Ekholm also beat the Oilers, who trailed 3-1 in the second phase before scoring three unresolved goals to lead 1-0 in the Best Seven Series. Edmonton goalkeeper Stuart Skinner made 29 saves in the winning effort.
Sam Bennett scored twice for the Panthers, who also scored a strong goal from Brad Marchand. Florida’s Sergei Bobrovsky faced 46 shots, the most of any Black Panther net in two years.
This marked the first game of the Oilers in the 1990 Stanley Cup final, when they also won their first game in overtime. That was also the last year Edmonton won the championship.
