The Edmonton Oilers may not have reached a blockbuster deal that fans hope to reach by the trade deadline, but that doesn’t mean they’re quiet. Not only were they able to add a solid defender to Jake Walman of the San Jose Sharks, they also took action to bring Trent Frederic and Max Jones from the Boston Bruins.

The biggest part of the deal with the Brown Bears is Frederic, as Jones spent the vast majority of campaigns in the American Hockey League (AHL). On paper, it’s a solid addition as the 27-year-old adds a lot of resilience and scores some points. For them, he will be a great mid-six and could have a significant impact on the playoffs. That is, the reason for the word “will” is because he is not yet suitable for a match in the Oiler Line.
Frederick’s injury is what attracts attention
It is becoming increasingly common for the NHL team to trade players before the trading deadline. The reason behind this is that they not only have more time to gaze with new teammates, but also with new surroundings. It may take some habits, and the more time they have to adapt, the better.
Not only will the Oiler wait until the deadline to acquire Frederick the next day, but it looks like he won’t be playing many regular season games, if anything. He has been fighting low-body injuries since February 25, which has pulled him out of the roster. Missing for a month may never be ideal. Especially for players who are not yet suitable for new teams.
Having Frederic on the roster so late would make the whole thing difficult for the Oiler, as he’s best fit for the roster remains to be seen. Head coach Kris Knoblauch will have to figure this out very quickly because it’s to attract a player’s roster and his other rosters won’t mess up the rest of the roster chemistry.
While Frederic hits a lot, it’s common to not want new players to spend some time blending with their new team. What is really worrying is that he won’t be as effective sometimes as he did during his tenure with the Bruins.
Oilers should see them elsewhere
Considering that Frederic makes sense to the Oiler, it makes sense to take action because they don’t have to give up a lot of things, but instead get him a very cheap hat. That said, it’s imperative that they add a score to the deadline, although Frederic might be, making a healthy person and having more time to adapt would be a better decision.

It seems that no other player doesn’t have it. There are a lot of scoring going forward and they moved elsewhere before and before the trade deadline. It is said that the Oil Man is in some, most famously Mikko Rantanen, but did not land. This could prove to be a huge mistake in another season, which is seen as the team’s Stanley Cup or bankruptcy year.
Oilers need Frederic to be fast and healthy
Frederic’s latest latest news came out this morning, with Knoblauch announcing that he would miss at least another two weeks of action. This is not a very promising update, although he can still return in the regular season if the minimum time is missed. This will be for him at least a few games, trying to speed up with his new teammates. This is far from ideal, but ultimately it may regret the best case scenario for a deal.
