The real Betis’ “very complex” deal against Manchester United’s Anthony remains hopeful

Although their sporting director Manu Fajardo described it as a “very complex action”, Real Betis still hopes they can reach a deal for Manchester United’s winger.

Anthony, who was on loan at Betis in the second half of last season, had a clear success, scoring nine goals and providing five assists to help them finish sixth in Laliga and reach the conference league final, where they lost to Chelsea.

Betis hopes to bring Antony back to Estadio Benito Villamarin, the Brazilian striker is considered a priority sale for Manchester United as they want to avoid losses under the Premier League PSR rules.

But Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon said last month they will try to loan Anthony again.

This approach may complicate things, but Fajardo still hopes Betis will be able to get Anthony’s service again, and there is no secret for the players to have his desire to return to them.

“We all have to realize that this is a very complicated operation,” Fajardo told Estadio Deportivo. “Given the level of the player and his recent career at Real Madrid, it’s not easy.

“But as long as Anthony is not committed to a third party, we play our cards with the greatest humility to be able to choose Anthony.

“I insist that although this is a complex action, we will try to do it in different ways without damaging the club. Finally, the most important thing is the sustainability of the club.

“We will work as hard as we did in the past so that Anthony can be here. Today, as I said before, the market is open, it’s very dynamic and we are part of the game.

“This didn’t surprise me [Antony wants to return to Betis]. And, I want to take this opportunity again to emphasize the work that Real Betis has done in all departments as a whole.

“It’s not accidental when players get here and have such a direct impact. It’s the result of work, sacrifice and seriousness that everyone is involved in every day. Not only can Anthony perform and do his best, but all the players who join Betis can achieve their best.”
