Cristiano Ronaldo responded to Rasmus Hojlund’s parody of his famous “SIU” celebration, saying it was not “not an act of disrespect” after Denmark’s 1-0 home victory over Portugal on Thursday.
The Manchester United forward replicated the former Red Devils’ iconic celebration after he won a late-stage title in Copenhagen in the first leg of its National League quarter-finals.
Hoylund insisted that the celebration was not a mockery of Ronaldo, and Dane called his “idol”, and the 40-year-old said he was not offended by the incident.
“For me, it’s not a problem,” Ronaldo said. “I know it’s not an act of disrespect. I’m smart enough to realize it.”
“Not only him, but all over the world, several athletes are celebrating me.
“It’s an honor for me, but I hope he’ll see my celebration tomorrow [on Sunday]. ”

Before Denmark headed to Lisbon on the last eight tracks on Sunday, Hoylund said: “He is [Ronaldo] It has had a huge impact on me and my football career. Maybe a little contradictory, but it’s huge to rate him and Portugal.
“I remember him scoring from a free kick when he went to the game in 2011 and I’ve been a big fan of Cristiano ever since.”
The winners of Portugal and Denmark will face Italy or Germany in the National League semi-finals.
After Tim Kleindienst’s goal and Leon Goretzka’s goal, the Germans returned to Dortmund to secure a victory in Milan.
